Caring For Friends (Formerly Aid For Friends)

Founded in 1974 on the belief that no one should be hungry or alone in a world of caring people, Caring for Friends is a volunteer organization and independent food bank serving greater Philadelphia. CFF provides food and friendship to homebound seniors, veterans, and those with disabilities; delivers meals to people facing homelessness; and donates food to more than 250 community partners in unserved and underserved neighborhoods. In 2021, CFF rescued, sourced and distributed more than 12 million pounds of food. Volunteer to cook meals, pack snacks, make deliveries or visit with clients at caringforfriends.org.

Butler Meal On Wheels

Butler Meals on Wheels, Inc. Mission Statement Butler Meals on Wheels, Inc. is a not-for-profit freestanding organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The purpose of Butler Meals on Wheels, Inc. is to provide excellent, nutritious, home delivered meals to individuals in need within the service area comprising Butler city and it's environs. The meals are provided to maintain adequate nutrition for those recuperating from illness and suffering impaired functional ability. Butler Meals on Wheels, Inc. strives to maintain clients in their homes for as long as possible, preventing institutionalization.No resident of the Butler Meals on Wheels, Inc. service area will be denied service, or otherwise be discriminated against, based on race, color, national origin, gender, income or on any other basis. However, no person will be admitted for service unless he meets the eligibility requirements as established by the Board of Directors. Individuals referred for service will be admitted based on priority, according to needs and the adequacy and availability of personnel and resources to provide the service. Priorities for providing meals are as follows: 1. Inability to leave the home without assistance of another or without using assistive devices. 2. Discharge from an acute care facility. 3. Functional disability which significantly limits the client's ability to prepare meals for himself.4. At risk: serious consequences will result if adequate nutrition is not maintained. 5. Lack of support from family, friends, or other agencies to provide meals.
