Our mission is two-fold:  To provide children affected by a parent's cancer with a supportive, lifelong camp community that recognizes and understands their unique needs.  To empower college students to make a difference and build invaluable leadership skills by developing and managing every aspect of their Camp Kesem chapter.

THE MISSION OF THE USTA FOUNDATION IS TO BRING TENNIS AND EDUCATION TOGETHER TO CHANGE LIVES Using this powerful combination, we help serve up dreams for under-resourced youth. The USTA Foundation is a 501 c(3) charitable organization incorporated in 1994 as the philanthropic entity of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). USTA Foundation uses the sport of tennis as a vehicle to help under-resourced youth become more engaged in school and learning with the goal of succeeding in tennis and in life. To that end, we support programs nationwide that leverage tennis and education to help those in need, primarily through the National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) network. The NJTL network features more than 270 chapters that reach over 130,000 youth on an annual basis, providing free or low-cost tennis and education programming to the 50 largest markets in the U.S. - nurturing future leaders and enabling kids in need to succeed on the court, in the classroom and in life. Our efforts are making a difference. To date, we have awarded more than $64 million in program services, grants and scholarships to hundreds of programs, benefitting thousands of children and adults through tennis, education and health curricula. Since September 11, 2001, 2.5 million troops have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, they’re coming home. Yet even after they return to the love and support of their families and communities, many will struggle. Physical and hidden injuries are challenging on their own. But sometimes, these injuries can lead to a cascade of other trouble — unemployment, depression, substance abuse, even suicide. Our mission is to ensure injured veterans and their families are thriving long after they return home. That’s why we find and fund innovative programs in communities where veterans, their families and caregivers live and work. That’s how we tackle the problems that can prevent our veterans from fulfilling their dreams for the next chapter of their lives.

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) amplifies the voice of the LGBT community by empowering real people to share their stories, holding the media accountable for the words and images they present, and helping grassroots organizations communicate effectively. By ensuring that the stories of LGBT people are heard through the media, GLAAD promotes understanding, increases acceptance, and advances equality.

Victory Junction enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses by providing life-changing camp experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, at no cost to children or their families.

Golden Heart Ranch (GHR) provides young adults with intellectual and development disabilities opportunities to reach their fullest potentials and enjoy meaningful, satisfying and joyful lives. We are an inclusive community where all young adults learn, work and create lifelong friendships in a supportive and caring environment.

Homeboy Industries provides hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated men and women, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community. Homeboy Industries is a beacon of hope and opportunity for those seeking to leave gang life, for whom the barriers and challenges are great, and for whom there is virtually no other avenue to enter mainstream society.

Border Angels is a nonprofit organization that advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice, with a special focus on issues related to the US-Mexican border. Border Angels engages in community education and awareness programs that include guided trips to the desert to place water along migrant crossing routes and to the border wall to learn about the history of US-Mexico border policy and experience the border fence firsthand. Border Angels also works to serve San Diego County’s immigrant population through various migrant outreach programs such as Day Laborer outreach, Volviendo A Cas, and the Green Cards for Kids Program. Border Angels works to dispel the various myths surrounding immigration in the United States and to bring back truth and justice.
