Sea Turtle Recovery (STR) is dedicated to the rehabilitation, preservation and conservation of sea turtles. STR’s goal is to rehabilitate sick or injured sea turtles for their release back to the wild. Sea Turtle Recovery also educates the public on the important ecological role of sea turtles, threats endangering them, and ways to protect their future.

Lifeline Energy is a non-profit social enterprise that provides sustainable information and education access to vulnerable populations. We achieve this by designing, manufacturing and distributing solar and wind-up media players and radios for classroom and group listening. Since 1999, we have distributed more than 500,000 power independent radios to provide on-demand access to information and education, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa. Over the years we have received numerous awards including the Tech Museum of Innovation Award, a World Bank Development Marketplace Award and an Index: Design to Improve Life Award. In addition, our founder and CEO Kristine Pearson was named one of TIME magazine's Heroes of the Environment for 2007 and received the James C. Morgan Global Humanitarian Award in 2005.

Since 1890, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) has been a global leader in research and education. The international scientific community at CSHL provides a unique and stimulating atmosphere for doctoral research—an environment where students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty work side-by-side. The Watson School of Biological Sciences (WSBS) was founded on the belief that with well thought-out mechanisms, enthusiastic involvement of faculty, and highly motivated students, an innovative curriculum could be provided that would allow students to earn a doctoral degree in a shorter time than in traditional programs without compromising the quality of their training. The curriculum is designed to train students to become scholars and independent thinkers.

Reporters Without Borders USA (RWB USA) is the U.S. office of the global organization, Reporters Sans Frontieres, a leading defender of freedom of information with almost 30 years of experience. A core belief of Reporters Without Borders is that only through freedom of information can one verify the existence of all the other freedoms. Without free circulation of information, it is impossible to strengthen human rights protection, advance government accountability, and improve the reach and the quality of social justice and civil liberties. At RWB, we are defending information, defending reporters and citizen reporters (netizens) whose work benefits ALL citizens.

Founded by Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green, the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation is on a mission to change the way cancer is treated and reduce cancer-patient suffering by providing a treatment that is accessible, affordable, and, most importantly, effective. Despite all of modern and alternative medicine’s best approaches, nearly 9 million cancer-related deaths occur every year due to cost, access, and efficacy of current treatment options. Dr. Green has developed a new arsenal in the war on cancer, Laser-Activated Nano-Therapy (LANT). The goal of B612 Foundation is to enhance our capability to protect Earth from asteroid impacts. We have done this through:Science & TechnologyPreparing studies and analyses necessary to identify, select and deploy technologies and techniques most likely to succeed in detecting and deflecting asteroids on course to impact Earth. Advocacy & EducationDelivering to the public information and education advocacy programs through media, public lectures, and other means to reach and inform the general public, the scientific community, and world governments about planetary defense and the best technological solutions against asteroid impacts.

Partnership and Inspiration for Engineering Education and Entrepreneurship promotes extracurricular programs involving robotics in the Carroll County, Maryland Region. Teams are open to students in grades K-12, with adult mentors guiding them in hands-on preparation for careers and studies in STEM.
