Movember is a month long global event in November where men grow moustaches to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues. Funds support world-class men’s health programs that combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.

Autism Society Canada (ASC) is a national incorporated non-profit charitable organization. It was founded in 1976 by a group of parents committed to advocacy, public education, information and referral, and support for its regional societies. ASC is a federation of Canada-wide provincial and territorial autism societies. By linking its member societies across the country, ASC represents the largest collective voice of the autism community in Canada.

MSF is the world’s leading independent humanitarian medical relief organization, providing crucial medical care to people affected by war, civil strife, epidemics, natural disasters and social marginalization. MSF strives to respond rapidly and effectively to public health emergencies with complete independence from political, economic or religious powers. In 1999, MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its pioneering humanitarian work: rapid interventions, calling public attention to humanitarian catastrophies, respecting fellow humans’ dignity and acting as a source of hope for peace and reconciliation.

Autism Speaks Canada is the leading autism organization in Canada dedicated to raising money to support autism research, awareness, advocacy and family/community services. Every dollar raised in Canada stays in Canada. Through Walk Now for Autism Speaks Canada Walk program and other events and fund raising activities, Autism Speaks Canada has granted over $6.5 million to the Canadian autism community from coast to coast since 1998. Since 2010, Autism Speaks Canada has granted over $1.5 million to Family/Community Services initiatives including Community Grants program, bilingual Community Services Database and a First 100 Days kit for families who children have just been diagnosed with autism.

Founded over 25 years ago, the Alzheimer Society is a not-for-profit health organization dedicated to helping people affected by Alzheimer Disease. The Society consists of a national office, 10 provincial organizations and more than 140 local groups across the country.

A dedicated team of Volunteers provide companionship, listening and emotional support to residents of our community who are facing a life threatening illness or injury. The Volunteers offer relief to enable primary caregivers to feel comfortable to take time away or rest. This care can be provided in a home, a hospital, or a long-term care setting. There are NO FEES for these services. Our Volunteers are people who display sensitivity, good communication skills, and willingness to help and have respect for the privacy, dignity and self-determination of the person. They are carefully screened and have completed an approved Volunteer Training Progrm. They receive ongoing education, supervision and group support. Agency governacy is by a volunteer Board of Directors which is drawn from all our communities.

Our two major programs provide hope for the future through the support of MS research into the cause, treatment and cure of the disease and hope for today through our many services that assist people with MS and their families. Since our founding in 1948, the core support of the MS Society has been from tens of thousands of dedicated individuals, companies and foundations in communities across Canada. The Society receives almost no funding from government.

The Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, affectionately known as SickKids Foundation, is the largest non-governmental granting agency in child health in Canada. Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation has granted over $300 million to The Hospital for Sick Children and over $60 million to researchers across the country. Through its National Grants Program, SickKids Foundation is the only granting program with a national, multi-year initiative to study two understudied but important areas of child health: the role of complementary and alternative health care and child health, and to study home care and children and youth. We have invested our community’s contributions in outstanding patient care, research and education. We believe there is no one else in Canada as dedicated as we are to eliminating the gap between what is happening in child health research, education and training, and what should be happening.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Help us spread our message of diabetes management and prevention. The Canadian Diabetes Association works in communities across the country to promote the health of Canadians and eliminate diabetes through our strong nationwide network of volunteers, employees, healthcare professionals, researchers, partners and supporters. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is a national voluntary non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health of Canadians by preventing and reducing disability and death from heart disease and stroke through research, health promotion and advocacy. Thanks to incredible community support, the new Alberta Children's Hospital is the most state-of-the-art children’s hospital in North America. Caring for 76 thousand kids and families each year, the Alberta Children’s Hospital is the provincial referral centre for Bone Marrow Transplantation and is establishing itself as a national leader in pediatric Neuroscience, family centred care and child health research. The Alberta Children's Hospital is home to the largest pediatric vision clinic in western Canada and is the only hospital in Canada that performs vision-saving laser eye surgery on children.
