It is the foundation's mission to raise funds to support the children living in our community that are afflicted with cancer and other life threatening diseases by improving the quality of life for them and their family while they courageously battle these devastating diseases.

The Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation was established by an international group of physicians and researchers to provide an ongoing exchange of information relating to MDS. Until the Foundation was set up, no formal working group had been devoted to MDS. Since its inception, we have conducted 14 international symposia. A major Foundation effort is our international information network. This network provides patients with referrals to Centers of Excellence, contact names for available clinical trials, sharing of new research and treatment options between physicians, and extension of educational support to physicians, nurses, pharmacists and patients.

Art beCAUSE organizes local fundraisers to fund research dedicated to eradicating the environmental causes of breast cancer.

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc., supports both new and established researchers at University Hospital and Medical Center at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and other outstanding academic institutions, investigating the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. This research will include-but not be limited to-studies of the genetic, molecular, cellular and environmental factors involved in the development and progression of breast cancer; application of the knowledge thus gained to educate medical professionals and increase public awareness for the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer; and studies of the outcomes of breast cancer detection and treatment on the patient, their families and society.

UBCF’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. We aid in providing screening, treatment, after-care, educational material, patient and family assistance and information. UBCF provides grants to hospitals and community health centers to benefit patients and families coping with breast cancer. We strive to alleviate the stress and strain that cancer can cause to patients and families and to foster health and well-being through both traditional and holistic treatments by never denying anyone service regardless of age, race, gender or income.

Our mission is to enrich the health and well-being of those diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancers – for life – by funding and delivering integrative therapies.

Founded by Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green, the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation is on a mission to change the way cancer is treated and reduce cancer-patient suffering by providing a treatment that is accessible, affordable, and, most importantly, effective. Despite all of modern and alternative medicine’s best approaches, nearly 9 million cancer-related deaths occur every year due to cost, access, and efficacy of current treatment options. Dr. Green has developed a new arsenal in the war on cancer, Laser-Activated Nano-Therapy (LANT). After a single 10-minute treatment, LANT completely eliminates tumors in laboratory mice in just 15 days, without any observable side effects. Limited by funding, not technological advancements, LANT is ready for human trials. Bright Spot Network provides young cancer survivors who are parents of small children with a safe space for individual and familial healing, recovery, and reconnection. We do this through family-focused retreats, survivor “matchmaking,” and connecting families with needed support and children’s therapy resources. We focus on young parents and guardians caring for young children at the time of diagnosis, including those diagnosed during pregnancy. We value empathy, equity and justice. Our community is built on trust and authentic connection. We hold hope and healing alongside grief and loss. Bright Spot Network serves families where a parent, or primary caregiver, of a preschool-age kid (ages 0-6 or pregnant at the time of diagnosis) has cancer. We serve people from diagnosis to survivorship, those in active treatment and living with cancer, understanding that a cancer "journey" can be long for the patient and their family.

To find a cure for pancreatic cancer in honor of Ron Hirshberg and the thousands of people who are diagnosed with this disease each year. To create a premier Pancreatic Cancer Center where all needs of pancreatic cancer patients can be met in one location with the most advanced treatment options. To be recognized as a patient support reference source for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. To fund projects and programs designed to improve patient care, treatment and, ultimately, pancreatic cancer survival rates. To integrate and unite generations, young and old, through physical fitness participation, while creating public awareness and raising money to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.

Our mission is to transform lives through year-round recreational and social programs for children and their families challenged with pediatric cancer or another life threatening illness. All programs are provided at no cost to the child and their family.
