Canadian Cancer Society

The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.

IsraAID

IsraAID's mission is to effectively support and meet the changing needs of populations as they move from crisis to reconstruction, rehabilitation, and eventually, to sustainable living. This commitment is expressed in emergency relief and sustainable development, with an emphasis on the transition between them.

WELLSPRING CANCER SUPPORT FOUNDATION

Wellspring is open to all cancer patients, their families and care givers, all of whom are known as members. Wellspring is welcoming and comfortable in nature, external to hospitals or treatment centres, and is devoid of any “institutional” feeling. Volunteers and group leaders providing programs at Wellspring deliver only cancer support services and not medical treatment or medical therapies, nor services for patients with diseases other than cancer. Wellspring receives no government funding and offers all programs and services at no charge to our members and without referral.

PALS Pet Access League Society

PALS is a non-profit, registered, charitable organization located in Calgary, Alberta, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of individuals through pet therapy. Volunteers and their pets currently visit at 50 facilities throughout the city including hospitals, seniors' long-term care facilities, classes for children with special needs, residential care and other care facilities that provide programs for individuals with limited access to the greater community. In addition, PALS has partnered with the Calgary Public Library for the Story PALS literacy program. This program gives children with literacy issues an opportunity to improve their skills through reading to dogs. All PALS programs are provided free to the participants and facilities we serve.

Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières Canada (MSF)

MSF is the world’s leading independent humanitarian medical relief organization, providing crucial medical care to people affected by war, civil strife, epidemics, natural disasters and social marginalization. MSF strives to respond rapidly and effectively to public health emergencies with complete independence from political, economic or religious powers. In 1999, MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its pioneering humanitarian work: rapid interventions, calling public attention to humanitarian catastrophies, respecting fellow humans’ dignity and acting as a source of hope for peace and reconciliation.

HUNTSVILLE HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation is a fundraising organization dedicated to improving health care services for the residents of Muskoka and East Parry Sound. The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Foundation was established as a registered charity in 1984 to receive, maintain and distribute funds raised by personal donations, grants, capital projects and special event fundraising, and special programs not covered by government grants. Although the Foundation does not contribute to operating costs, its mandate is to provide ongoing capital and education resources for Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare - Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

For over forty years, The King’s Daughters Dinner Wagon, a not-for-profit agency now known as Meals on Wheels, has been dedicated to providing nutritious meals, daily companionship and comfort with a smile.

ALBERTA CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Thanks to incredible community support, the new Alberta Children's Hospital is the most state-of-the-art children’s hospital in North America. Caring for 76 thousand kids and families each year, the Alberta Children’s Hospital is the provincial referral centre for Bone Marrow Transplantation and is establishing itself as a national leader in pediatric Neuroscience, family centred care and child health research. The Alberta Children's Hospital is home to the largest pediatric vision clinic in western Canada and is the only hospital in Canada that performs vision-saving laser eye surgery on children.
