Kiski Valley Cat and Kitten Rescue is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and neglect towards cats by providing shelter to homeless cats until they can find them permanent homes of their own. Necessary veterinary treatment, including spaying, neutering, Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations are obtained for them. Euthanasia is not considered unless a cat is gravely ill and it needs to be done to prevent or end the cat's suffering.
Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries, a grassroots endeavor created in 2001, grew out of the need to influence local public attitude toward domestic animals and to find an alternative to the high euthanasia rate that currently existed in our area. Our goal is to provide a humane, lifetime care sanctuary for the care and rehabilitation of abandoned and at-risk animals. We currently provide outreach education programs and networks for animal fostering and adoptions. Our vision is, through example, advocacy and outreach, to make a real difference in not only the animals we help but in future treatment and respect for all life, great and small. We opened our sanctuary in September, 2016 and focus primarily on stray and abandoned dogs and cats. We serve Tioga and Potter Counties in Pennsylvania.

THEIR MISSION: Founded in Baltimore, a campaign created in response to the alarming incidence of animal abuse in the U.S. Show Your Soft Side is a public service campaign that was created to change the mindset of young people who all-too-often view the maiming and torturing of defenseless cats and dogs as a sign of “toughness” or “manhood.” The campaign’s message that compassion towards animals is a sign of strength, not weakness, is one that, overnight, struck a nerve with old and young alike.

Faith N Friends is a volunteer-run, donation-funded 501(c)3 horse rescue and sanctuary. We accept owner surrenders, rescues, and abandoned equines. We provide community and owner education and assistance as available and are in the process of creating therapy programs for disabled and chronically ill children. Through community outreach and education, Faith N Friends strives to bring understanding and comfort to people of all ages and from all walks as they interact with and learn about horses. There are over 150,000 horses, either in rescues or feral, without permanent homes in the United States. More than 90,000 horses each year are sent to slaughter. Rescue horses have fewer options than their kindred dogs and cats, due to their size and feed requirements. Faith N Friends works to address both the equine and human needs by providing care, treatment, and training, as well as matching loving owners to the right horse while helping and educating horse owners and the community.
