Mission: The purposes of the Blackbird Foundation, formerly known as 'Alik'alak'wa'ishe, are to create and operate a Chumash Indian religious, educational and cultural center and to enable children to learn traditional, academic, environmental and culturally relevant subjects and to raise and provide funds for the support of, and to carry on, the forgoing and other charitable activities.
Transition to Organics is a program of the Blackbird Foundation. Our focus is to support the Earth by working with Nature, inspiring and educating land stewards, offering workshops, conferences and hands-on advice about how to create healthy farms, gardens and communities.
