Donate to Stand in Solidarity with the Black Community & Against Racial Inequality

At Pledgeling, we will not accept hate or intolerance of any kind, and we are committed to making it easy for anyone and any business to raise funds for nonprofits committed to social justice and equality for all.

The following recommendations are all vetted, 501(c)3 nonprofits doing inspiring work on the front lines of racial justice. Our recommendations below are categorized by cause areas.


Provide Support for Minnesota:

Minnesota Freedom Fund pays criminal bail and immigration bonds for those who cannot afford to as we seek to end discriminatory, coercive, and oppressive jailing.

Know your Rights Camp was founded by Colin Kaepernick and holds education seminars across the country for Black and Brown youth. Know Your Rights Camp has teamed up with defense lawyers in the Minneapolis area to help provide legal resources for those in Minnesota in need currently.


Provide Support for Advocacy & Awareness:

Black Lives Matter was founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Black Lives Matter is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes.

BOLD (Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity) is a national training intermediary focused on transforming the practice of Black organizers in the US to increase their alignment, impact and sustainability to win progressive change. BOLD carries out its mission through training programs, coaching, and technical assistance for BOLD alumni and partners. In light of COVID-19, they changed their training format for 2020 to a variety of online offerings.

The Marsha P. Johnson Institute protects and defends the human rights of Black transgender people through organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting collective power. Their intention is to reclaim Marsha P. Johnson and their relationship as Black trans people to her life and legacy. They were founded in response to the murders of Black trans women and women of color and how it is connected to their exclusion from social justice issues including racial, gender, reproductive rights, and gun violence.

NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) has a mission to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.


Provide Support for Civil Rights & Legal Affairs:

ACLU is a nonprofit, multi-issue, 500,000+ member public interest organization devoted to protecting the basic civil liberties of all people in the United States. Recognized as the nation’s premier public interest law firm, the ACLU works daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

Equal Justice Initiative litigates on behalf of death row prisoners, juveniles, people wrongly convicted or charged with violent crimes, poor people denied effective legal representation, and others whose trials are marked by racial bias or prosecutorial misconduct.

Innocence Project Inc. is dedicated to exonerating innocent people through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent wrongful convictions.

NAACP Legal Defence & Education Fund is America's legal counsel on issues of race. Through advocacy and litigation, LDF focuses on issues of education, voter protection, economic justice and criminal justice.

Defy Ventures provides entrepreneurship, employment, and personal development training to currently and formerly incarcerated men, women, and youth. Through coaching and mentoring,, they help Entrepreneurs in Training (EITs) launch successful careers and businesses while breaking generational legacies of poverty and incarceration.


Provide Support for Policing Accountability:

Center for Policing Equity produces analyses identifying and reducing the causes of racial disparities in law enforcement. Using evidence-based approaches to social justice, they use data to create levers for social, cultural, and policy change.

National Police Accountability Project was created as a non-profit to protect the human and civil rights of individuals in their encounters with law enforcement and detention facility personnel. The central mission of NPAP is to promote the accountability of law enforcement officers and their employers for violations of the Constitution and the laws of the United States.

We the Protesters is a national organization focused on ending racism and police violence in the United States. Since 2015, they’ve built the most comprehensive database of police violence in the nation, used the data to identify effective policy solutions and supported movement organizers to enact these policies at every level of government.

Campaign Zero is a comprehensive platform of research-based policy solutions to end police brutality in America. Funds donated to Campaign Zero support the analysis of policing practices across the country, research to identify effective solutions to end police violence, technical assistance to organizers leading police accountability campaigns and the development of model legislation and advocacy to end police violence nationwide.


Provide Support for Research & Analysis:

National Urban League is a nonpartisan, civil rights, and community-based movement that serves over two million people each year, providing direct services, research, and policy advocacy to help individuals and communities reach their fullest potential primarily working with African-Americans and other emerging ethnic communities.

Race Forward was founded in 1981, and brings systemic analysis and an innovative approach to complex race issues to help people take effective action toward racial equity. They conduct cutting edge, original, and broadly accessible research on pressing social justice issues focused on the significance of race to social and economic outcomes in society. Race Forward Media promotes racial justice through appearances and interviews in broadcast, print, and online media.
